Privacy policy

I promise to respect your privacy in your use of this website in accordance with EU General Data Protection Regulation.

Website host and cookies

This website is hosted by WordPress. In common with most websites, WordPress uses cookies. You can control the use of certain cookies at the individual browser level or in your operating system preferences. If you opt-out of such cookies, you may still use the site, but your use of some features may be limited.  You can find out more about your rights in relation to cookies and how to control them here

Analysis of website use

Visitor statistics are useful in helping me ensure the site is meeting the needs of readers.

I use Google Analytics to look at where my audience is coming from (both in cyberspace – e.g. whether through a search engine or social media – and real-world geographical location), overall time spent on the website, most frequently visited pages and bounce rate (the percentage of visitors who navigate away from the site after viewing only one page). These data are aggregated and anonymised and cannot be used to identify individual visitors to the site.

Google uses cookies to collect these data on my behalf. You can disallow cookies by adjusting the settings in your web browser.

Newsletter

If you sign up for my newsletter I will email you weekly initially, to introduce myself and my books. I will then email you every 3 to 4 weeks, more frequently when I have a new book coming out.

I use MailerLite as the automation platform for these newsletter emails. By subscribing to this list you acknowledge that the information you provide will be transferred to MailerLite for processing in accordance with their privacy policy.

You can change your mind at any time by clicking the unsubscribe link in the footer of any newsletter email you receive from me. I will treat your information with respect and in accordance with EU GDPR. In particular, I will not spam you or pass on your email address to third parties.

New blog posts by email

You have the option of signing up to receive blog posts by email. This is operated by Google according to Google’s updated GDPR-compatible privacy policy. If you change your mind, you can unsubscribe at any time by clicking on the link at the bottom of the email.

I reserve the right to delete any I consider inappropriate, offensive or spam.

To leave a comment, you are required to give your name and an email address. (You also have the option of providing a website link but this is not obligatory.) Your email address is required to reduce spam and is never published. Along with your comment, it is stored in the website editor. To respect your privacy, I will not use any email address provided in this way to contact you or pass it on to third parties.

If you wish to withdraw a comment you can let me know by replying to the comment itself. You do not need to give a reason, but I will need to ensure the email addresses match before deleting it (along with your request for deletion) from the website.
